Nine Volt Heart previews the First Annual Green Mountain Bluegrass and Roots

For a first year hosting a roots festival, the folks in Manchester VT have hit a home run! The lineup is spectacular, the setting gorgeous and the amount of tickets  to be sold is modest; all leading to a relaxed successful festival. I spent two hours spotlighting only artists at this year’s GMBGR festival. The first hour spotlighted a few headlining acts including Peter Rowan, Mandolin Orange, and MIPSO. I also went a little deeper into the lineup with selections from Joe K Walsh, Danny Barnes and Bobby Britt.

The second hour begins with music from Twisted Pine, Lula Wiles, Lonely Heartstring Band (all based out of Boston’s amazing Berklee School of Music) as well as cuts from Upstate Rubdown, Donna the Buffalo, Eli West, Mile Twelve and IBMA award nominee Molly Tuttle.

The festival is from August 16-19 in Manchester VT. Additional details are found at greenmountainbluegrass.com
