Honeysuckle has had a monopoly on recent Boston Music Awards winning 2019’s Americana Artist of the Year and 2018 Folk Artist of the Year along the way they’ve been nominated several years in a row. Named by NPR as”a band to watch”, they’ve released a steady string of excellent albums including 2019’s “Fire Starter”. This weekend, they’ve released a brand new single featuring the now duo of Chris Bloniarz and Holly McGarry.
Our segment begins with the title cut, “Fire Starter” and finishes with the new single, “Long Distance Run”. In between, we talk about their individual paths to Berklee School of Music where they met. Our topics include their experience of this last year in terms of creativity, the loss of an original member Ben Burns, and their “plans’ for the upcoming year.
The duo have now moved to the Saratoga Springs NY area and have the luxury of being able to quarantine together and continue their creative path. There will be an upcoming release party in hybrid form at Cafe Lena and online. This talented pair of musicians have stayed positive and have prepared for the future in their “Long Distance Run”.
