Sam Grisman is on a serious hot streak! His festival sets this summer have been “must see” events. His collaboration with so many major musicians include Peter Rowan, Larry Campbell, Sierra Hull; that’s just Newport Folk Festival. This past weekend, Sam was on everyone’s set including Lindsay Lou, Noam Pikelny, Stuart Duncan as well as his set with Tim O’Brien and Victor Furtado! I asked Sam about the legacy of his father’s career and it’s impact on his own work.? He considers his ability to play Grisman/Garcia songs a priviledge. His musician friends have made this experience an improvisational acoustic ensemble not to miss.

The segment finishes with the Sam Grisman Project’s version that features Tim O’Brien, “When First Unto This Country” and “Dark Hollow”. We finish with David Grisman and Tony Rice’s “Sambino” in honor of Sam Grisman.
